Power down the printer, reboot computer...cross your fingers and power up printer. Still no lights; ping the ip address, if time out message: try the Inter-Net Tool, no communication....your gonna need a mainboard. It's a gut feeling.

Guess I looked over the "it won't power up", Check your Fuses (Glass Tube type) on the power board. If blown replace, but the question remains "what blew them".
I recently went thru this type repair on a SJ-1045. After 4 power units, 3 servo boards and 1 scan motor (was shorting out system), I finally was able to stabilze the power. I would highly recommend getting a certified Roland Tech to repair.

Couple of things that should have been checked out. Do you have power at the outlet? Possible the circuit breaker could have flipped.

Fuses look good, did you actually test the fuses? If they test ok, and you have power at the outlet then some other component is bad on the power board or the powerunit itself. Was there a thunderstorm in the area when it powered down? Can you see any burned/black color on the cables?

For the battery...you can replace it, but in my 6 years of servicing I have yet to see a battery go bad.

PS- I still think your gonna have to get a Roland Tech to assess the damage/repair.

no power shortages here (storms) it was quiet...checked outlet it is good switched cords tried other outlets..no black wires (burned) no resisters puffed out circuitboards no sign of a hot spot.,.fuses look good but gonna take them to get metered...are they any other fuses i see the built in one on motherboard but it looks normal...thanks for replying all of you...it was weird just got the icon where a ethernet was unplugged and there was no power...
roland tech site gave me a error when i tried to send support a letter ..

Call your Dealer, but I doubt they will provide the wiring drawings. It's against my company policy to forward that info and service manual's to non-customers (out of my Roland territory). Hopefully your dealer/supplier is a Roland re-seller.

PS- your in need of part# 12429114 (list price last year (2009) was $446.30).

Yes it's the "Powerunit"....but the bigger question is what blew the powerunit, it's why I recommend a Roland Dealer. They would be able to replace the powerunit if it blows again (I'm talking about initial install of new board), if the short rears it's ugly head.

making a insurance claim could be the way to go. Your deductible is what? 1000? The Powerunit and labor to install is going to be close to that amount.....IF the problem is the powerunit (which it could be), but throw in a servo board, print carriage board, or whatever blew the powerunit and the 1000 deductible would be the lesser pill to swallow.

I went thru this repair on a SJ-1045 and the customer would have been happy with a 1000.00 invoice. I ended up using multiple powerunits and servo boards, before finding the scan motor was shorting out.
