This is a little lesson I learned myself.
Started printing on my versacamm and I noticed the color was wrong.
Red was pink.
hmmmmm....
Now, the machine the RIP is running on had recently gotten a new hard drive, everything reinstalled and the custom profiles reloaded as well.
So I started thinking it was something I had done wrong with loading the profiles, I spent about 2 hours checking and double checking the computer and software and starting a print after every tweak.
I'm getting upset now, I don't want to spend all day profiling the machine, but it looks like I will have to.
The question was asked,
"Did you do a test print on the machine itself, it hasn't been used since before Christmas."
D'OH!!!
So I do the test print off the control panel, and sure enough, looks like 1 head is not firing at all.
So, 2 medium cleanings and nothing changes.
Open up the cover and look at the capping station, pour a little cleaning fluid on the sponge and it sits there. Does not drain away.
Pull out the syringe and still nothing flows.
Change both cap elements for good measure, run a medium clean,
test print is perfect.
So what is this long winded post all about?
I didn't follow the troubleshooting steps because I thought I "know what is wrong".
So, today might be a good day for everyone to pull out your printer manual, and review the troubleshooting steps.
Even if you know them.
