Storing a cleaned print head

We had a head strike on a JV33 and replaced the head. The only obvious issue is that the silver retaining ring that holds the membrane to the carriage is a little bent. It keeps the cap top from getting a good seal and nozzles keep clogging. The head is soaking in wash fluid, and I'm confident all nozzles still work, but I need to replace the square metal bracket that screws into place; holding the print head together. Mimaki won't sell the part, but maybe I can fix it.

My question is in regard to storing the head after I (hopefully) fix it. A tech told me to drip motor oil into the top of the head where the ink lines connect. Is that the best technique to use?

Thanks,
Miked
