Tape or Not to Tape

Ok, pretty new to digital printing. Only have a 24" Mutoh for doing small decals and such. My dilemma is when to tape the digital stuff? For instance a guy brought in a racing decal, about 1.5"x 15" long. Would you tape these for him to apply or just hand them out? Seems like this one he gave me is laminated and not taped. The lamination seems like it'll make it easier to install.

We don't tape anything that is laminated.

I would say it depends on the complexity of the contour and if there are any cutouts inside the contour.

I have never laminated anything, I think this may be a better way??

If it is contour cut..yes of course it would be taped. If it is a sheet or simple shape then no.

If it contoured cut = pre-mask / transfer tape

if it shape cut or solid sheet = no pre-mask / transfer tape

I laminate and contour cut. If it has loose pieces or not laminated...tape.

pre masking all depends on the contour of the image you are producing. If its complex with corners or radius especially something you think may stretch during installation then tape it.
