Tapered ends on the left and right pinch rollers?

I have a Roland SP540V printer, and I was replacing the pinch rollers. Does the smaller tapered end on the left and right pinch rollers face each other towards the center of the printer or does teh smaller taper face to the outside (away from the center of the printer?

Thanks

Face each other.
smaller ends have to face each other, or you would not hold material taut when printing

however, some 3rd part (chinese) rollers ARE NOT TAPERED. not sure if the dots are on the correct end, either

not to complicate a simple question, but, if your rollers are NOT ORIGINAL, it is worth paying less than $20 and going to harbor freight or amazon

this way you can measure the rollers and skip the "it almost seems worse since i changed the rollers" thing

the other thing worth checking is, with the older rolands, be sure when you pull the lever the rollers ALL LOCK IN PLACE. (they are
all down & can't be moved side to side at all)
