Thermographic (raised) printing

We were getting this done through BCT since 2010, and recently had a very custom project come up where we contacted with all of the details/specs and design layout. received the quote submitted the numbers to the end user, got approval and tried to move into production and BCT refused to start saying they didn't read the criteria on the initial inquiry. As such to get done with what is needed will be 3x the initial quote. Called to find why and after a most unprofessional conversation with Mark Lord. where he refused to honor his quote and thereby costing us $500 more out of our pocket to save the project, to which he said "tough sh!t, you either pay what I charge or go elsewhere"

Now we are looking for another Thermographic (raised) printing supplier. some of the points that we have to have are;
  • Multiple colored Thermographic (raised) inks
  • Flat and Thermographic (raised) inks on the same piece of paper
  • Exact cut lines for border alignment, no skewing.
  • Embossing - this is not required but a nice add on

if anyone is using BCT, best of luck and hope you have better luck than we have with them.

Which BCT location do you use? Most of the Thermo places we use only do one color and single sided for the raised inks. You will be hard pressed for any place to offer "Exact cut" there has to be a margin of error due to the types of machines they use for cutting.

Round Rock.

The multiple colors are never touching and are always on a 1 sided imprint.
Their margin of error cannot be seen by the naked eye, allowing a border to be placed, especially on business cards, and have it look good

We use BCT in Tempe, AZ and they always tell us they wont do multiple raised colors. They also wont promise perfect cuts, but as you have seen they are generally really good.

Just got off the phone with corporate and it seems that each location is independently owned and operated but doing so under the BCT name.
They are investigating this as they said if a quote is provided then that needs to be honored

I'm glad they are trying to fix the situation, BCT seems like a good company.
