This Effect

Can anyone tell me how to get the effect on the word "Hostetlers" in Illistrator or Photoshop? I have to make some other words look like this.

Just use the bevel in photoshop in the layers menu. Use the blending options when you right click the layer.

layer > layer style > bevel

In photoshop, go to layer, layer style, then pick bevel and emboss. It'll bring up a small interface where you can mess with the size and such. There are slider controls which make it easy to see how it will look.

Or you can Dbl. click on the layer and it will open up the layer styles for you.
I suggest creating a duplicate layer before you do this, always keep an original copy of your art.
Also on a side note always - always name your layers.
