Top track for letters collapsed... bend with heat gun?

I have a PUDD style large letter marquee.
The top letter channel collapsed and is touching the white poly-carbonate.
We can't put letters under it at all, even trying to force them under.
What are my options?
I can't cut the top track or it won't be long enough to hold the top of the letters.
I can't force a permanent wedge under it because the letters need to go all the way to the top of the track for removal.
Can I heat it with a heat gun and bend it up a little?

that might help with heatgun and then maybe a pop rivet to hold it...i hate these tracks!
I will get a thin piece of wood and slip under it and maybe another piece over it to protect the polycarbonate.
Then heat it just enough so it will re-form.
Rivets are a great idea, I didn't think of that.
The track is currently glued in place.
