I downloaded Alipay and got my bank card and ID verified with it. The alipay app had didi on it. can you pay for most things with alipay or do I need anything else? should i get a data only chinese esim? it looks like they sell it right there on alipay app
You can try buying an eSIM on Alipay if it’s available.
Better get it before you leave the US—you’ll have internet as soon as you land.
Alipay covers almost all daily payments, like 99.99% of them.

Recent jaunts...

Atlanta with my son for PU.

FESPA and family in Amsterdam with my son. Added Stockholm and Oslo to round out the trip.

Vegas for PU on my own.

House sitting in Pacifica (San Fran) with the better half for 10 days in 2024.

Our daughter taught in Sweden for three years, so numerous trips to Stockholm, Göteborg, København during that time.

If the morning commute to work wasn't so long I'd be in København or north of Stockholm in a heart beat.

We were hoping to do FESPA (Barcelona) again this year and tie it into a trip to Ireland but the schedule is off. Sigh!

Japan and Korea are definitely on the bucket-list. Thanks for the pics.

When in Vegas I did a side trip to the Hoover Dam, that was way too cool. Also checked out Springs Reserve, a hidden gem minutes from the strip.

Great Idea! I'll be in "Les Sybelles" France then to "Andermatt" Switzerland and the last "Gutshuf Obersalzberg" in Germany for our Ski Trip...leaving on this Saturday!

My next trip takes me all the way to Reno, to see Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. That's the best I got this year.

Blue roofs in Shanghai and across China are predominantly industrial, featuring durable, cost-effective, and weather-resistant blue-colored steel plates often used for factory, warehouse, and shed construction. While some traditional temples use ceramic blue tiles to represent the sky, the widespread modern blue roofs are chosen for, or are rumored to provide, heat reflection to reduce cooling costs and are easy to spot for flood rescue

Do the blue lights on trees have special meaning or purpose? They are pretty.

$4 for two wonton soups. Food is 10 out of 10 here. Not sure about the shrimp flakes. Very impressed with this country.

Depends on the area. Some streets have them still up from winter decorations others for Lunar New Year still. In the entertainment areas they are year round and change colors.

I’ll take two printheads back with me; they’re cheaper than in the US, haha
