Question UCJV300 Tool smashes print head

Hello fellow members

I am hoping someone can assist with a confusing issue I am having with my recently acquired machine.

When trying to print in default Hi scan mode the tool disconnects from the print head when printing is about to begin, the tool flys off to the left and leaves the print head behind which then returns at full speed smashing the print head back into the capping area of the machine.

I had a look and noticed I only had one magnet on the tool since then I purchased a secondary magnet and was hoping this would resolve the issues *note the machine was printing with no problems since I have owned it for the last 4 weeks* Unfortunately the same problem occurs.

The machine will run as normal in the 1200x1200 hi scan setting, or normal setting I believe because the speed is slower?

Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated

Likely your magnet has come out of alignment and needs to be adjusted. In some cases, the bracket can also become bent and that will cause that to happen. DO NOT add extra magnets, alignment is critical, and the printer needs to be able to break the connection as well.

That or my first hunch is the head lock mechanism is either not disengaging or is misaligned causing the head to remain locked when it shouldn't.

Yes, on mine the bracket / arm had become bent and only part of the magnet was making contact. The tech just bent it back straight and all was fixed in less then a minute.

Thank you that's great advice and your absolutely correct, I was waiting on 4 different techs and only one provided the same answer as yourself. Just after I posted this I received the same advice to check the magnet alignment however the tech did not mention to check the bracket, I adjusted the bracket holding the magnets and that solved the issue after days of pulling my hair out and techs advising on all different scenarios it was a simple 30 second fix. So happy to be back firing at full pace again, I did add an additional magnet but this was due to one being missing I believe there should be two on the ucjv300?

same thing happened to me last year, it's easy enough to realign the magnets, took 10 mins
