UJF6042 MkII e - Head Hight Sensor.

Hello,

Does anyone know the procedure for calibrating the head height laser sensor?

We're only seeing a laser return value of around 65. This apparently needs to be over 85, but don't want to go adjusting things without a procedure.

First, make sure the space between the head and the table is equal on all 4 corners of the table, that way you know everything is parallel.

Basically this is the process, but you should have access to the #adjust menu to do it easiest:
set the table to 43mm.
#adjust - adjust sense (or something like that)
Put a 10mm block on the right side of the table in the path of the laser and adjust until you get close to 85. Then check the left side of the table. Keep adjusting back and forth until you get the same reading on both sides of the table.
Without a block on the table it should read 100 while the head is capped in, and while the head is all the way to the left as well.

When you put the covers back on, make sure not to tighten them too much as it can tweak the frame just a bit and throw the laser off again (super annoying)
