US Tariffs, Sigh!

Question...for those of us that were dinged (surcharged or paid additional costs to supplement the tariffs being charged to importers, our suppliers), will we be getting our portion back as well? Or does it stop with the importer?

AFAIK, absolutely yes. Case in point, Nintendo announced an extra $50 on the new console explicitly because of tariffs. Now that tariffs are a moot point, they've further raised prices due to increased RAM costs. Kinda like how rent went up during covid for....reasons. It's never come back down, no reason in the landlord's eyes that it should.

RAM has skyrocketed because of the shortage. I went to buy some micro SD cards for my security camera and it was 3x higher than last year.

Everyone was affected by tariffs - it’d be near impossible for most companies to give the money back to the people who paid more.

That’s why the whole thing is a sham. Once again, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

But it’s worst than that. Not only will you not be seeing most, if not all of the extra money you spent…. Have you seen prices lower since the tariffs have been off? Companies saw people will pay the additional fee… they apply for a refund to get it back, and keep the additional charge because what else will consumers do?

Some suppliers are giving refunds, some legitimately can’t because it’s impossible to track, but a good portion of them are just greedy dicks!

We’re seeing a bunch of suppliers increasing costs due to the Iranian war now too. And Russian war… and anything else they can use as an excuse.

better question is how's your investments doing? more than makes up for those gas prices.

My Micron stock has been doing well. I bought in around $200 a share. I wanted to sell some off at $800 but I was busy and missed it. I might try and ride it out to $1000....
I also jumped on the XRP train with my fingers crossed. At $1.41 a coin a person can afford to buy $100 and if you lose it, whatever, I've lost $100 quicker LOL.
