Sound bites aside.... I'm often subjected to watching Fox News (aka Trump's state media). I've seen and heard the absurd comments and positions of POTUS. Entire speaches, not isolated sound bites.
If it were any other president saying and doing what he does, they would no longer be president.

The whole freakin' speech. Every word, every phrase. Been listening to the idiot since 1974. Central Park Five, Howard Stern: "I would date her if she wasn't my daughter, she's hot". You can catch him lying in on single paragraph about Project 2025. He said "I've never heard of it, but some people say.....". If you've never heard of it, then how do you know some people say? THE MAN LIES, repeatedly.

This is what I just can't comprehend, the things he says and gets away with. People just shrug and say "that's just Trump" womp womp. Bad policies, bribery, grifts, treason, etc. aside, just the shit he says alone should get some sort of condemnation/censure/whatever from both sides on a weekly basis, but 99% just floats by without mention.
If Obama had stuck his finger in a female reporters face and said "Quiet piggy!" articles of impeachment would have been drafted within a day.
I remember Obamas Mustard scandal... Back in the days when all you had to worry about was a Mustard scandal, as dumb as it was, those days were nice!
I think this is just the way it is now... or at least I hope (But dont hope?). I feel like if Trump were president during obama days... Half the stuff he says would get him into trouble. But now that everythings gets repeated hundreds of times on the news, then you see it online... then your friends talk to you about it... people are just tired of it and shrug it off. He's said, and done some messed up shit - His "Locker room" talk should have prevented him from being president alone... but people ignore it. What will be interesting is whether it stays that way when it's a Democratic president, or if it goes back to the days of trying to cancel someone for wearing a tan suit.
Thats what happens when you try to cancel someone over every little thing though, people get de-sensitized to it - Not just in politics... Comedians can't joke around without risking offending people, celebrity tweets are being dug up from when they were kids... If everything is a major problem that needs fixing...all of a sudden nothing is a major problem that needs fixing. If the media didn't focus on every tidbit trump says...And there are a lot, maybe they'd focus more on Epstein and the important stuff and it'd hold peoples attention better.

You can't compare the two. If Obama says quiet piggy, that would be out of character. Just like if trump apologized for something, that would be out of character. We knew what we were getting when he was voted in. Flaws aside, we look at the bigger picture.
