usb problems

Ok I have multiple computers but my new computer will not run my cutter or roland on any cord longer than 4ft. I need at least 8ft on roland an 10ft for my cutter. Is their anyway I can increase the usb settings to make it work. I have the same equipment on other computers with different cords and they work. Even on a 20ft usb they work fine except for the new computer.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes it should or a usb to tcp/ip convertor.
