Using non-Roland inks

WHY??? almost all the problems I read on here, people are using non-roland inks.. I know it sucks to be "stuck" using it and that other inks are cheaper etc.. but you are dealing with very precise machinery here.

Would you put 87 octane gas and 7-11 oil in an 80k vette??

Some guys seem to have good luck, plus they save $40,000 in ink per year.

I am a small user so my ink savings would not offset the decreased head life and increased service calls and parts charges.

It's all great until your heads start dropping out...

OEM always for me. I've had too many problems with non genuine inks and toners...it's not worth the headache to save a little money.

I am a hybrid shop with light signage, vehicle lettering, paper printing, business cards...ect. Same with my media and paper, I use premium products. I've found there is less down time. Even if I am running a small job of 100 color copies for someone, my machine has genuine xerox toner and 32# HP paper....no jams, no bad coloring...no problems.
