Using Verswarks Palette to match your cut vinyl graphics issue

Well I have stumbled on issue using the Verswarks Palette to match your cut vinyl graphics.
I manufactured two 32'x2' signs one had some Oracal 049 colour cut lettering applied direct to the face and the other had a flooded printed versaworks matched to 049 with white graphics.
We fitted these whilst the owner was on holiday.
But since, he would like a white fade either side of the flooded printed sign.
Due to using Versaworks print palette I have found that you cannot add fades over the top as this is causing Versaworks & our Roland RF-640 to print the incorrect shade of blue.
I have been in contact with Roland directly and it turns out the only way you can mimic this is with a half tone fade due to the how the RIP interprets the colour!.
Sadly this isn't what the customer requires so it easier to remake the whole sign rematching the cut vinyl colour as I cannot match exactly.
This is just a little heads up on the issues of using Versaworks pallete in a design programme.

Is this all of the spot libraries or just the Roland ones?

Anytime you mix a spot color with a raster effect, you're going to run into issues like this. What design software are you using? In Illustrator I would just use the gradient tool to create the fades. The key to it is to not use a standard white swatch for the white in the gradient. Use 0% of the spot color instead. That will create a gradient that goes from spot to white and should preserve the color of the spot color since it's not needing to convert from spot to CMYK white.

Roland has nothing to do with it. Transparency cannot be used with SPOT colors.
