Need Help Valuecut II 1800 Pinch Roller set up

Gotta admit, I am totally mystified by Mutoh's pinch roller set up on the Valuecut II 1800.
Anyone have experience with this machine that can point me in the right direction?

- It seems that the machine uses the second outermost set of rollers (not the outer-most set) to determine media size.
- Why so many rollers? & How should they be deployed??
-Is there a setting I need to be aware of in the menu?

Also, although I am using "Fast" setup in Flexi, the machine creeps along at the speed of an ant.
Did I miss another setting?

I can't find a single reference in any Mutoh manual for this machine on setting up the pinch rollers.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

- Pictures show that the 2nd outer rollers in use (left right sides), as those rollers are the only ones which the cutter seems to recognize for the purpose of media sizing.

figured it out.
- Although the lever flips all of the rollers "down," together, if some of the rollers have been manually flipped up, they must be manually flipped back down.
Once all of the rollers have been checked for being in the down position with the lever also in the down position it works as expected.
