vent above hood help

what is normally done with the area between the hood and windshield, I was planning on wrapping it but with all the vent holes, i'm not looking forward to it?

I would probably mask that area off and paint it black first, then wrap up to it. Or, just leave it white and wrap up to it. Use knifeless tape to trim around it in either case.
