Versacamm printer cable length ?

a 6' cable came with the printer but wanted to purchase a 12-15' cable , to place the printer in another room where it can be vented.

will a longer cable effect the print quality ?? in electronics i have been told that the longer cable will transmit "weaker" data.

anyone have experience with this ??

I use one that is about 20' with no problems at all

Norman........Why does it need to be vented?
As for a long cable I use over 18ft with no problems
