Versaworks not accepting files??

Started having a problem with my older version of versa works not accepting files. Occasionally it was newly built files but now it will not accept files that were run previously. (no changes made at all to the files)
Needing a solution for this that does not require updating versaworks. The rip computer is only used for this Roland and is not online.

I did re-install from the disc and it didn't help & changed my setting to metric??:banghead: Could use a tip on that as well.

could there be a firmware update? And if so, you could download to to flash drive and install it that way?

Been reading about updates to older versa works / rolands and it doesn't look like a good idea. We've been running this printer for quite a few years with the same setup (no issues until this year)

Maybe a chance my design computer is sending out bad files except there are files that were unchanged and versa works is now kicking them back.

i ran a roland for a few years with no problems either, maybe firmware upgrade isn't the go, but i wouldnt rule it out yet.

A question about the files that you're trying to re-print, are you re-importing the files to versa-works, or using the old files that are already within the RIP?
Also, doesnt versaworks have a database of saved files that have been printed (file extension is .rvw) that can be used to re-print the job, without any amendments?

Files are transferred from my design computer to a jump drive and reloaded into versa works each time. The files might have been in the job log but the program was re-installed to see if that cleared the issue.

I just took one of the files and made a new file and it loaded fine. It seems like a hit and miss, because yesterday that didn't work.

Yeah, it's the file is corrupted warning. I uninstalled / re-installed VW and same problem. Last night I went ahead and made new files in illustrator and that worked. Go figure? Thanks for the help guys!

When you say it's not accepting files - what is it doing?

Ours gives us the old "file is corrupted" error on an almost daily basis which can only be solved by rebooting VW. Of course this only happens when both printers are queued to print for a few hours.

Back to your issue, have you tried to "run as administrator" and see if it solves anything? (right click on shortcut ---->Run as administrator)

Might be worth a shot.

Pat, I'll try your tip if it kicks back today.
