Versaworks reading outside of bleed as cut instead of cutcontour stroke.

I have a "live traced" art supplied by customer. I set the CutContour spot color as the stroke to be cut. Then I duplicated the art and changed the stroke to the fill color & increased to size to create bleed. It looks good in Illuistrator, but when I bring it into Versaworks. It reads the outside of my bleed as the cut line & NOT the CutContour stroke that I need. Any ideas.

I've tried outlining the stroke of the bleed, to no avail. Please let me know if you guys have had the same issue. ThanksAgain

put up a photo of the file with the cut line ... it will help us to know whats wrong ... usually though with illustrator live trace it creates a box out of the white spacearound a traced image ..so delete that and it should be ok ... a pic would be good though

There was no box leftover from livetrace, so that's not it. Here a pic. Any help would be great. Thanks

Okay - Just ripped your pdf... and it's fine ... cuts within the bleed, so it has to be a setting somewhere in versaworks...

Try expanding the red stroke on the number and then cutting. Also, flatten any transparencies you have in the file.

Does the company you bought the machine from offer training? I bought new from a company about a hour from you in Quakertown. Proveer (formerly Sign Supply USA...formerly Vinyl Sign Supplies) set mine up and taught me quite a bit in about 5 hours. Maybe they can offer you some training?

it may also have to do with the spot color red, as you have a pot over a spot. flatten transparency on the total redw/bleed, then combine into a solid fill shape, and convert it to cmyk. then try it again.

I am familiar with them, but it' something buggy in the file. I've done this a bunch of times before, & just did a test using a typed number, then outlining, & it read my bleed and cutcontour line perfectly.

I guess I jusr have to find a workaround for this job.

Thanks All
