VHB tape

Is there more then one type of VHB tape or just the one and is good for most type of installations?

I'm using it on aluminum signs that are 24"x36" either 0.80 or 0.40, I'm not sure where the customer
is going to install these signs but my guess would be a brick wall I think.

There are lots of options for VHB. They all have different uses and hold strengths.

I use the grey 4941 from 3M for stuff like that. Good stuff.

check out duraco. They offer 90% of the holding power of 3M for half the price

Hope the brick is painted or no VHB tape no matter the brand will hold them up.

It doesn't take much. Check out the 3M VHB videos on youtube for a demonstration of the strength and holding power of VHB. It's impressive.

I think Duraco has been bought out or changed their name to Essentra. You can easily be overwhelmed with all the different types of tape they offer. Just plan on doing some reading, or call and see what they recommend for your application. The times that I have called, they have been very knowledgeable about their products. They also do free samples if you have time to wait.

Ok I just found out the aluminum will be going on metal surfaces, now to hunt down the right tape, I'm going to stick with 3M

4950 is an awesome Metal to Metal VHB Tape. We use it for building Trailer Marquess for our fair clients.
