Vinyl Type and Color

Graphic Extremes

Knows To Little
I have a customer that wants 1500 of this item. He states that it is 3M Vinyl but doesn't recall the color or what 3M vinyl that it was made from, his last supplier who went out of business and he can not get a hold of him to find out.

Don't know if anyone can tell from the pic what type it is. I believe it is a cast vinyl as the customer says that it does not shrink with age.

I believe it is a flat matte finish, but hard to tell what color of grey or off black it is.

Thank you in advance for any help with this matter.

Really hard to tell from that photo. Looks like it was taken in a cave. Did you see the item in person? That would make it easy to tell what it was. It does look like it could be one of the etch glass-look vinyls on a black substrate. Other things like this I've seen done were matte black vinyl on a gloss black substrate.

It is a vinyl decal on the factory tinted glass of a vehicle. The greyish part is the only part that is vinyl. The background is factory tinted glass.

All I have is that picture that the customer sent me.

I was thinking it was matte black from 3M, but do not want to purchase a roll of vinyl and have it be wrong and I have no use for it.

Ok, so it's just a one-color, machine cut decal and the dark parts are the glass! I get it, now!!!

It's the 3M 2080 Dead Matte Black DM12(which gives Gray) because the other matte blacks are definitely black and the 3M 'gray' matte colors are all metallic, which this decal is not. I snapped a pic of the color chart so you may see the Dead Matte. Good luck!!!

And reach out to Aerotect here in So Cal (who ship nation-wide), because you can purchase the vinyl by the linear foot and not have to bear the expense and find use for a whole roll. :)

Show the client the sample deck and let them pick. Pretty simple cut, weed, mask. But 1500 of them?

Who's installing? Or should you print out a little "how to flyer" that goes with the order?

1500 is a lot. If your doing them yourself it is a lot of labor, make sure to account for it
Almost be wise see if Stouse can do them, and mark them up from there.
