VP 540 print issue

So my printer had a brain fart and decided it wanted to print funny this afternoon.. Vp-540

Whats happening is that its printing out of alignment, almost looks like it goes backwards and prints a transparent image off to the side....

I have cleaned, manually cleaned, recalibrated, all of the above and no luck... Happened once before and fixed itself but I'd like to know a solution if anyone has one....

have you tried restarting the whole outfit?
I know its a little obvious, but a 20 minute sleep seems to help reset.

I would be interested in how to do a factory reset on a VP, but I'm still looking for the ledgendary service manual.

possibly the encoder strip or sensor may need cleaned

I had to reinitialize the limits (whatever that means....) the tech walked me through it.
