VS-540 beeping is slowly driving me crazy.....

I do know why it is beeping ink car 7 is out of magenta ink. I have new 440 ml carts coming early tomorrow morning and the head is capped.

I am not that worried about the head drying out, but I have to work next to a machine beeping at me. I have powered the machine down and restarted, but the beeping picks up right where it left off.

Is there a way to turn the alarm off?

Two options:

1) Power down the printer with the carriage in the home position (printhead capped).

2. Put tape over the tab on the offending color cartridge to cause the tab to recess.

Assuming that the ink arrives tomorrow, I would opt for #1, but that's just me. The second option is more risky, because it could cause ink to be introduced into the lines when the printer runs automated cleaning cycles.
