I don't think the head speed in vw will change anything but worth a try. That will move the head slower but will also tell the printer to print more slowly as the head speed and head firing are synced so the printed design comes out correctly.
At the moment I think they are out of sync due to the new motor not moving at the correct speed.
I would try doing some actual print and cut jobs and make sure they come out correctly.
If not I would be contacting digiprint to return the motor
