we are moving with hp latex 1500

Hi, we're moving in two weeks.

Is there any way to transport an HP Latex 1500 on a trailer without the fork lift kit?

Has anyone done this before and have any experience to share?

I like making signs
I hired a moving company to move my HP 315. They used straps and 4 guys. Moved from shop to my home basement. They did almost drop it down the stairs but it worked out in the end.

I would highly suggest having riggers doing this if you really depend on this machine. They move machines like this all the time and know how to do it best without damaging the machine. Its large enough that not fully securing the machine correctly in transit, it can do serious damage to the frame and rail if not properly held in place. Sucks, but biting the bullet on this would be the smart play. If it were me, id rather have a team take care of this so we can boot up and get the machine running again as fast as possible to start printing, rather than hoping all goes smoothly and potentially damaging a moneymaker in transit.

Everything you’ve written is correct. However, we bought the machine used about a year ago and handled the transport ourselves. We actually know what we’re doing. It’s just that, unfortunately, we can’t get hold of the forklift kit at the moment.

All good dude. yeah im not sure about the forklift kit youve mentioned, but when we moved a LX850 used* years ago ourselves, we got a long enough box truck for the move. Reached out to HP for any docs they have on moving it and used them as a guide. Ended up using the head lock mechanism they had for that unit and rolled it off our dock into the truck. Then strapped the living hell out of it and braced it so it wouldnt bounce and move too much. Since you dont have a dock, i see the conundrum and the need for a lift. May need to either rent one or at least contact some riggers to at least get it onto your trailer and get it off the trailer into the new building. I dont really see a way around it unfortunately.
