What Exactly Does Gemini do? Wholesale Signmaker AND Materials Supplier?

Pretty new in the sign business but one of the first tools I learned to use was the Gemini quote portal. Over the months I've picked up, whether here or elsewhere, notes about two other apparently big parts of their business: Gemini Duets, and apparently selling signs through other wholesalers? Wondering if anyone can shed some light on these parts of what they do.

Regarding their letters: some people say that other companies are selling "Gemini letters" - does that mean Gemini is essentially creating stock dimensional letters in bulk for other companies to resell?

Regarding Duets: this makes sense to me - they're producing substrates - but have no idea how they got into that business in the first place.

Gemini makes stuff, people resell it. If you have an account with them, then you are a reseller.

Duets is kind of a joke as far as I'm concerned - I don't know if they're intentionally doing an awful job of trying to compete with Rowmark etc. but I can't see why anyone would buy their overpriced materials.

My understanding is that Duets are not overpriced in the states, since they sell through dealers, we have to buy from Gemini directly, and are paying to ship stock up from the USA.

I'm not super familiar with Duets, but I can speak on the letters.

At least in my shop it's less like you're saying with bulk and more like, Gemini makes the letters but the 're-sellers' do the middle man work. We put together the design, we sent it to Gemini, they make the letters, and then we install them.

Might be different in other shops, but that's how we utilize them.
