Hi Everyone, we are going to buy an UV Flatbed Printer and our supplier offers us two different printheads, Ricoh 6Gen and Kyocera KJ4A.

Anyone knows about these two printheads? Wich one is better and why? In general terms, wich one do you prefer and why?

Thanks a lot!!

I would go for the Ricoh because it's easier to get almost any where. Already using Gen 5 they are robust and fast. Never used Kyocera but I'm sure that they are also excellent.

The Kyocera heads are amazingly fast and high quality, let alone super durable. The Gen 6 heads are super promising and a big step forward for Ricoh.

we have the Gen 6 heads and they doubled our print speeds. The print quality is extremely high. Ricoh heads are known for durability that we had very few problems with our last UV printer heads. The printer we purchased last fall had the option for either heads, and for the price of the Kyocrea heads you could get a double row of Ricoh Gen 6 CMYK and print faster. If you are doing a lot of fine detail, like museum signs, it may be worth it to get Kyocera. But given the quality, reliability and speed of the new Ricoh Gen 6 heads... well we purchased the Gen 6 heads and are very satisfied.

Both are the same durability. Kyo is more expensive and print quality is lower than Ricoh. I like Ricoh because I can ultrasonic it when it gets clogged.
