Wiper for Canon 1650?

Does anyone have a part number for the rubber wiper for the Canon 1650?
I put a ticket in with our support people, and they're saying its only sold as part of an entire assembly which is $1600.

I've attached a picture of it, as well as the blowout which shows it as Item#2 on the blowout.

There is even a video from Canon showing how to replace just the wiper as its a common piece.

This seems insane that I can't get just the wiper. Is there a part # you guys have i can send back to our Canon Rep and Equipment rep?

I'm not positive about this, but ask about part number 1070095066. I have it in my system (and in Canon's system) as "Dry Wiper, Packed, Colorado 16XX". sells for $110.67 USD. I'm not positive that it is the right part and I show no records of us having ever sold one.

My parts guru doesn't come in for a few hours and when she gets in I can ask her to confirm with one of her contacts.

Thanks mark! I sent that part number off to our contact so I'll see what they come back with. I tried googling it but couldn't confirm either.
I feel like this would be a super common part that gets replaced by anyone with a 1650. We've had ours a year now, and one of the little rubber pieces on the wiper is starting to seperate.

the fact we've never sold one (and we've sold dozens of Colorados) is a bit odd. Hope it helps. I'll report back when I hear from my parts guru.

Hey Mark,

So the origional part # 1070087761 is what they've said 100% is the wiper. But that has to be something like a 25 or 50 pack correct? I've asked them but they still haven't been able to provide an answer
I can't see how that one little rubber wiper could be $1600. On our other UV flatbed machines we used to replace the wipers on it every month or 2 and they they were maybe 10-15 dollars for the wiper.

It’s all about your print!
We've had our 1650 for more than 4 years and have never replaced any of those wipers. But I've heard that was part of the reason they went to the wiper cartridge system on the M Series. Which I think is a huge waste. It's $115 because you have to change the whole wiper plastic assembly.

So I learned the wipers on the Colorado are designed to be permanent and should not be replaced unless they somehow came into contact with something that caused it to rip or tear. I'm pretty confident that part, despite being for a large quantity, will get you out of a jam if you are in one....and then you'll have 49 more for future use (yes I'm laughing). I hope that the pricing I saw on the Canon system site is correct and that it is only $110.

Hey Mark, so essentially where I'm stuck at here with my Rep is as follows:

Part # - 1070087761 is just QTY 1 wiper for $1600 - . They said this is the one that we need.
Part # 1070095066 - DRY-WIPER-PACKED/1PC=50 IN BAG. - They have confirmed this is 50 in a bag and I've been quoted $148.66 for that part number .But they can't confirm if that is the actual wiper that I need or not. They don't know what that part number is.

They show no sales history of either one of those part numbers in Canada here. though I know there are several others that have this printer far longer than we have had it.

Do you know of anyone else in US or Canada who I could escilate / talk to in order to get a solid answer before dropping $1600 on a small piece of rubber lol

How much do you want to bet that if you order "DRY-WIPER-PACKED/1PC=50 IN Bag" this is what you get:

Lol 100%. I ended up just ordering that origional part for $1600 and seeing what comes in. I need to get that wiper fixed. But I'm thinking its actually just the wiper. I get print heads and some other critical components are expensive, but you wouldn't think a wiper would be anywhere near that.
