I'm pretty sure that piece of hardware is compatible. It's expensive, but you might want to also look at the robotic, automatic chart reading system.

Does anyone know if the X-Rite i1Pro2 works on Caldera V8?

It will certainly work, as the Pro2 is compatible with the drivers that were built for the older i1Pro that was used for many years, meaning that the Pro2 will emulate the older unit in this case.
