as long as you use your take up i dont thank you need the dryer. i have the same printer. the xc has 3 internal heaters and they work fine. but if you let your prints hit the ground and touch face to face they will stick together

I agree. We've had our XC for 2 months now, and, so far, have not regretted passing on the optional heater.
