Notice they attempt to hide the pattern a bit by making it columns of 11 instead of 10. If it were columns of ten it would be a very obvious diagonal all having the same name.

The answer will always be a multiple of 9....

If you look carefully at the grid when the gifts are displayed , you will always find the same gift listed under every multiple of 9 (as Gyps listed).

That's NUTS that I remembered that. I remember some song on Sesame Street from like 22 years ago that was all about the number nine, and they said no matter what combination you used, some kind of math always equaled nine. CRAZY what sticks in your head.
