Brad:
Did it turn out to be a problem with the mainboard?
I had this same problem on a RS-640 last week and after 25 minutes of troubleshooting, I determined the board had bad leg on the heat sink (which controls signals to the heads) New mainboard fixed the problem. But I have also seen the...
If you can get into service mode...perform the print/cut adj and see if the results on this test resemble what your prints are. If so adjust it and reprint your job and see it is fixed.
Encoder strips can cause it to be off but seriously unlikely. If the drive cable is loose this will be more...
100%K 25%M 25%C. Leave the yellow from the equation. Yellow is not going to add any color other than a hue difference.
3rd party inks suck!! There is no good aftermarket ink that will not in time cause issues. Thats why Roland, Mutoh & Mimaki have their own inks. These are tested and known to...
You will want to always leave it set like that. It doesnt use alot of ink because it is simply just purging the heads. Running a CMYK test print of some sort is always helpful to. Because that actually fires the head with actual voltage which in turns moves the ink through the entire ink system.
If OSHA walks in there and measures the VOC level of the room and they tell your employer to fix it or else...trust me she will fix it OR close the doors. They will allow her a little bit of time, but after that, the fines get real expensive real quick.
Simple as that!!!
I would be very hesitant about any sales person walking in and saying there is no need to flush and no specific profile needed. All third party inks need profiling. I would want to know where its made. Ink pigment and solvent parts are usually different from the actual manufacturer inks...
Bulk ink systems that are open air systems are fed from gravity like what Artbot was speaking of. Serious thinking of cartridge placement in height is very important and can make huge changes, so be very careful about what you do and how much you change it.
I have the ink starvation issue...
If it doesnt print at all it sounds like a headboard fuse for that color has popped.
You can swap the head cables and find out the easiest way.
Just change the magenta with the cyan and if the cyan quits printing and the magenta prints you know thats the problem. Make sure to keep the cables...
This is the best way to run this printer. It will print faster and I think the color control is much better. I believe you can change this setting in the parameters menu.
You will have to perform a headwash to make this change.
