I roll my media all the way back to the rollers and it prints fine 90% of the time, what is the reasoning for leaving that much? Lamination? Corners getting caught on the head? Just curious.
That's essentially what the old timer had to say haha. He said that when you do hand lettering you always cross the ends of the letters with a brush stroke in the opposite direction. The more you know :p
My only participation was in making it look old and the application, so no comment haha...
I did this job recently and I thought it was pretty cool. Curious what others think. The goal was to replicate worn off painted lettering with vinyl. The old timer at my job said only real sign painters will know what I got wrong, can you tell? :big laugh: (kinda dreading finding out all the...
Make sure you're using a Pantone and it's not being converted to CMYK pre rip. I use the IJ180 CV3 Premium Cast Vinyl setting for pretty much all my printing, regardless of material. The colors always hit, but grey is tricky and will often look pink or green if a specific Pantone isn't assigned.
What have you done so far to try to combat the banding? I'm surprised they said to buy the cleaning ink cartridges before some other steps you could try first.
I saw a huge chain of them up in New Hampshire a few weeks ago, I didn't realize there were so many. Gotta say it's a bit alarming when you aren't expecting it!

Could it be that there are two blue layers? I've run into that before, whoever makes the file accidentally duplicates a layer and if it's a spot color it prints twice and is darker.
Are you trying to make big coloring pages? Because I do that for my nephew! I just use bond paper in our Epson s80600 with no heat. The paper is not technically compatible with the printer but it works for just a black outline with little bleed laterally but it does bleed through to the back of...
