have a 1624x that I just decommissioned today....did the long store procedure on it which flushes all the lines with cleaning solvent.
Still plugged up.
Not familiar with spicers that you mention...I am not concerned with the white laminate adhesive as much as the adhesive of the clear.
In my experience...I had some "water-based" adhesive that had this same issue.
I would check specs on the adhesive that is on the clear.

Grabbed a replacement thru digital media warehouse...spoke with Phil first, very informative. Also spoke with Brendon for processing order. I picked up this part from them...changed out curing unit for this same error, back to printing.
The service and knowledge from them was top notch.
Oracle liners are way to thin!!!!!..been that way for years hence why we do not use the films....step up oracal, Get on board...however you want to put it. Tried them...Curls on every product
I have 3 1624x...1 1604 before...out of service now...no problems...but mutoh..if your listening...this should be addressed...as I do not think a 4th is in the future from reading this...not good news from a printer that has been so reliable since the 1604...not impressed
Definitely not advising as it is a super safety issue if you are in close proximity during operation....although we have ours disabled for the very same reason...you need a volt meter/ tester to jump out or close the circuit.
If you have reserve...consult electrician....
