Old thread, but I'll post the solution, for any future readers, same still applies. If you uncheck 'sort' and arrange layers in Illustrator, it will cut in the order of the layers. If 'sort' is checked, it will disregard the layer order. So I typically ContourCut first (layer 1 in illustrator)...

Thanks but too much has failed. Scan motor, power supply, servo board and more. The repair is more than it's worth, and due to shortage of parts in the country, by the time the parts would have arrived, it would also have needed new heads.
