  1. Wall Graphic Material Suggestions

How's everyone doing? Hope that all is well. We have a client who is in need of a large wall graphic (approximately 3x7) and I was curious if you guys could recommend any specific material to you. We have a Roland SP-540. None of us have experience installing larger graphics, anyone...
  2. SP-540 not cutting smoothly

Thanks for your continued support. I'll check the details that you requested and get back to you. Thanks again for all your time.
  3. SP-540 overspray

The printer seemed fine when we did the test prints and the overspray only happens randomly. We manually clean the printer at least once a week.
  4. SP-540 not cutting smoothly

So we did a test on laminated vinyl without a print and while it didn't cut perfectly, it cut considerably better. It not being perfect may have to do with some of the more minor settings but i'm still at a loss regarding why it's cutting the way it is when it's actually printed. Any idea on...
  5. SP-540 Smoke Exposure Ongoing Problems Concern

Thanks so much for the response. My feelings and thoughts are mutual. The only issue is that the tech who checked it out seems reluctant to write up a report saying what "could" be damaged in his opinion and the insurance company won't pay for anything unless there is a report from an expert...
  6. 6' x 8' Banner

We had a similar issue a while back. We had to make a 12x12 that was going to be going on truck (parked) and we used 2 inch double sided tape. It held up pretty well and the customer was pretty happy overall. You can set it up in versaworks to print it accordingly so that you can overlap the...
  7. SP-540 Smoke Exposure Ongoing Problems Concern

In December the building next door to us had a huge fire and most of our office was drenched with water and experienced a lot of smoke damage. Somehow our SP540 survived all this and made it out after being in freezing temperature for 4 days. Traces of smoke was all over the place and as...
  8. SP-540 overspray

We clean it pretty frequently and that hasn't helped. How can i slow the print speed down and regarding the head alignment, is that something in the setting or something i physically have to do? I'm pretty sure it started when we got a tech in here to replace our black print head, related you...
  9. SP-540 overspray

Would anyone happen to know why overspray would occur? I am seeing red on the edges of a lot of prints. It's not very strong or visible but it's definitely there. Any idea what would cause this or how i can fix it? Thanks.
  10. SP-540 not cutting smoothly

Salmoneye, i tried what you recommended and with high hopes i started cutting and once again, i have the same problem. This issue is driving me crazy. Any other suggestions? COuld there be something seriously wrong with the cutting mechanism? I figure it's fine since regular colored vinyl...
  11. Cell phone

Switching will make you wish you still had an iPhone and you'll end up switching back so i second taking better care of your phones although sometimes we can't help something happening to them... I didn't even realize you could buy a full replacement plan for the iphone, any idea how much that...
  12. SP-540 not cutting smoothly

We typically laminate almost immediately after printing. Do you think this is something that could be causing this issue? How long would you recommend that we let the print cure?
  13. SP-540 not cutting smoothly

That's correct, we're printing with a bleed and cutting over the printed image. We have tried cutting immediately after printing and laminating and tried waiting a couple of days before cutting, both with the same effects. I'll try reducing the blade force even more in hopes of that working...
  14. SP-540 not cutting smoothly

Thanks for the response. I"ll try to get a nice close up pic today but it's pretty much what you're saying in terms of it not cutting cleanly and does look a little perforated. When you mentioned the teflon strip, are you referring to the cutting strip? That looks pretty clean and we're using...
  15. SP-540 not cutting smoothly

UPDATE: I think i might have found something out today while testing things out. It seems like when i cut the laminated vinyl without printing on it, it cut much smoother. I tried again with the same exact settings on a printed piece that's laminated and again it's grainy. Has anyone out...
  16. SP-540 not cutting smoothly

How's everyone doing? I hope that all is well. I posted this a couple of weeks ago but didn't get an responses so i was curious if no one has experienced this.... "Hopefully someone can help me out with this because i'm at a loss at this point. We do a lot of small prints and detailed...
  17. SP-540 Not Cutting Smoothly

Hopefully someone can help me out with this because i'm at a loss at this point. We do a lot of small prints and detailed contour cutting and for some reason when i'm trying to get laminated material cut the cuts aren't smooth at all. They seem very grainy (i think that's the best way to...
  18. Is it time for a new head (or two)?

Prints Attached are the prints I was referring to. Thanks for the feedback.
  19. Is it time for a new head (or two)?

Jeremy, thanks for the response and good news haha Yes it is an SP and i was curious what your thoughts are on the overspray and non crisp edges, related to the print head you think? Attached are some prints from today and they look terrible as you can see but i don't understand why there is...
  20. Is it time for a new head (or two)?

Hey, how's everyone doing? Hope everyone is well. I was curious if you guys think it's time for a new print head judging by this test print. I noticed that the blue seems to be a little off too, do you think i need two new print heads? Also, i'm getting a little bit of overspray and the...
