  1. Got our GS6000

Ink fragility Hi!!, a vendor showed me an Epson GS6000, the print quality was vey good. He printed some pictures in 3M media. I kept the prints and after a couple of days I saw that the ink came off (scratches) very easy from the media. Have any of you (owners) notice any peculiar in this...
  2. Media counters SP300/540

Hi all, I don't own any of these printers but I might get a SP540 as a loan from a brother in law, who wants to control how much I print. The thing is that he says that the SP300 has a more reliable way of counting the media used (a counter in the printer) and that he can not find that counter...
  3. Ink usage in Roland and Mutoh

According to your answer I can assume the boyh Roland and Mutoh (Versacamms and Valuejets) have a similar ink usage per square feet, am I right ? By the way I will be printing mostrly in canvas and any material that can be used in the decor business without a high level of reflectivity.
  4. Ink usage in Roland and Mutoh

Thanks both, Darrel you are right, the only thing is that here costs are higher and prices are lower.... and for high volume work, when your are bidding against "work of art" made in China is better to have the least "expensive" machine in all regards. Anyway in terms of the overall process...
  5. Ink usage in Roland and Mutoh

Hi, I own a fine art and photographic printing business in the Dominican Republic, I have aqueus printers (Epson and Canon) and for the next year I would like to add an eco-solvent machine to my shop (I've working on this for over a year). My choices are Roland and Mutoh since those brand are...
  6. SolventJet Printers (modified Rolands)

Thanks Mike, seems like that those Solvenjets are not very popular in the States. I'm new to the solvent world and I have not founf any support to Mimaki printers in my country (Dominican Republic). Regards, Felix
  7. SolventJet Printers (modified Rolands)

Hi, I've been offered one of these printers in my country. They are modified by Splash Of Color (Eco solvent turned full solvent). Any experience or recomenndations about these printers ...... Regards, Felix
  8. HP Vs Kodak(Encad)

Thank you all again, for Fine Art I will have to watch also a new pigment Canon (60") that is comming soon, it will have 12 inks. Regards
  9. HP Vs Kodak(Encad)

Thanks Rob, Well... my expectations (and those of my customers are high). As you suggest testing is a must for my case and as I mentioned in another post there might be two printers in my future. Thanks again.
  10. HP Vs Kodak(Encad)

Thanks for your comments, Sorry that I didn's explain better my situation. I already have two Epsons 9600 for my Fine Art Business. They are 44" wide and I need to print bigger, that's why I'm looking for a 60" aqueous.... Going over 44" I will be printing mainly in canvas, but of course being...
  11. HP Vs Kodak(Encad)

I'm considering a 60" wide aqueous printer (debating between aqueous and solvent for my next printer). In my first post I already asked about solvents. Now I will like to get opinions from experienced users between the HP Designjet 5500uv and the Kodak 1200i (almost the same as Encad 1000i). I...
  12. First post: information and question....

I will keep at least one of my Epsons, if possible both. The service issue is a very important one. I will have to check and see others experiences, we are not that far from Florida, but having local support is better. I will keep all of you informed about my progress..... more opinions and...
  13. First post: information and question....

Thank you all again, and Gino, Spanish is not neccesary if you like good Salsa and Merengue. Actually I think that Nur should label their next printer "Merengue". From all of your opinions I will try to make some test prints in a Roland (a couple of shops here have Rolands). As I metioned...
  14. First post: information and question....

Thanks Colin, I live in Santiago, the second largest city. It is very nice for us when someone from another country says that he(she) was here and enjoyed. I have been in Canada (Toronto and Montreal) and I love your Country. If you ever comeback you should know that you have a new friend...
  15. First post: information and question....

Thank you all, also for the warm welcome. Well I think evrything is narrowing down to Mimaki JV3 or one of the new Rolands with Eco-Sol Max inks. I like the fact that the Rolands are Eco-solvent and that I can get one that also cuts......The Mimaki seems to be of high quality for a full...
  16. First post: information and question....

Hi all, My name is Felix Sepulveda. I'm from the Dominican Republic (Caribbean) and have a "small" print shop where my main focus is photographic printing. I have two Epsons 9600 (44") with Ultrachrome inks. I'm very satisfied with their quality and of course have some issues with ink...
