  1. Onyx RIP Server Executable Errors

Still more answers It does not seem to matter which profile I RIP the job with, as soon as it is finished, and the correct media is set, boom, crashed. File size also does not seem to matter to the process. The PDFs can be anywhere from 45K on up, the images are as low as 2MB on up to 80MB or...
  2. Onyx RIP Server Executable Errors

Answers The file types were either PDFs or JPEGs, none of which has caused me any problem in the past. The PDFs generated out of InDesign. I removed all jobs from both the folder and the window in Onyx. I read on Onyx's site about sometimes having cut marks cause issues, or jobs being the...
  3. Onyx RIP Server Executable Errors

Hi All I've searched around looking for suggestions on this issue on both here and Onyx's site, but found little to give me direction. I am hoping that one of you good folks has run into something similar, and can offer some words of wisdom. This issue started yesterday, and I am dead in the...
  4. source for consumables

More on TCS I can second that about TCS, much more reasonable than the factory bulbs for my Agfa. Nice to deal with, fast service. Best Ken
  5. Agfa Anapurna Non Firing Heads

Ink System Tim Don't think it is air, normally, when you run a purge on the head, you momentarily push a button, and ink pushes through the jets. If it it normal, you see three drops or three streams along the head. That was exactly what I was seeing every time. If there is air in the line, it...
  6. Agfa Anapurna Non Firing Heads

Updated 11 am Hi All: I'm hoping some of the helpful folks here have a few suggestions of what to look for here. We've had our Anapurna Mv since December 2008, and generally speaking has been a good machine. In the last few months, on occasion, I can be printing, stop to change the head...
  7. Mason Street ID Sign printer

follow up on the previous comment I work at the same company as the previous poster, and I can offer to expand a bit on what he said. We had 7-8 of the 900s, they had been refurbished by a place in New York, over time, it was about $300 a printer. They did great work, but the last time I...
  8. Seal 6500 Not Working

Follow Up to Seal Laminator Problem Hi Folks, thanks for all the responses, I've just been too swamped to respond. You all know how it is in a one person shop. The boss and an electrical engineer buddy got it working again, doing exactly what you all said, traced the power flow. Finally...
  9. Seal 6500 Not Working

Hi All We have a Seal 6500XL. In the broad scheme of things it is rarely used. Over the last five years, it has probably been used 10 days total. A week ago Tuesday we fired it up on a specific job, just like was done last summer, it worked fine through the day. It was shut down normally. On...
  10. Oce 460 XT ink not sticking to MCP laminate

Same Problem I attempted to do the same with the Agfa Anapurna Mv on similar melamine material. Wow, it printed beautifully! But as soon as you ran a finger over it, it peeled off, did not even take a tape test. I think the only way it might have worked would be to coat the material in some...
  11. AGFA Anapurna Waste Ink

Hi All Forgive me if this has been discussed previously. We've had our Mv for four years now, and I have about 30 liters of waste ink tank materials. I've been told previously that it is considered as hazardous waste, however reading over the MSDS sheets with some other information, it does not...
  12. Anapurna MW

Aftermarket Lamps for Anapurna I purchased replacement lamps last year for our Anapurna Mv, I got them from TCS Technologies. They have worked just fine and were a perfect fit and easy change out. If I recall correctly, the price was 1/3 of the OEM. Ken
  13. Anapurna

We have the Anapurna Mv, and it has done very well, we will have had it three years as of December. Unfortunately, I don't know of any user group out there. I wish I did. I am due to change out the ink filters here soon, does anyone know where to source those short of direct from Agfa?
  14. Looking for service tech in Virginia

Glenn Robb I'll follow that up with a high recommendation for Glenn, he is a super nice guy and very knowledgeable. A++++++++++++
  15. Who has one of These? Do they work this well?

I don't have the neat desk or snap scan, but I've been in the market for a document scanner. Now my need is not really business, but personal, I am also a historian, and have, probably realistically, about a 1,000 pound set of files that I'd like to scan and have available for study at my desk...
  16. Need Font ID

I don't have any kind of name for the font, sorry. However, the 3 and 2 are really close to a style used by the Norfolk and Western railway to number their steam locomotives beginning in the 1890s of so. I had to draw it in Illustrator to make stencils to letter a full size locomotive, but the 1...
  17. Color setting - illustrator

You can change the color mode by going File>Document Color Mode Now I've run into a lot of problems with drop shadows in Illustrator where the shadow is over a color area, it seems to cut a rectangular area almost like a piece of tissue paper over the color, lightening it. This is only visible...
  18. AGFA M Series Printer Feedback

I clean as needed, I'll generally start up, and simply drip the heads, no wiping unless some bubbles are showing which I know will mess the prime test. In the same vein and the same track this topic seems to be taking, we are now out of service contract, and in the last month, I've got a single...
  19. AGFA M Series Printer Feedback

Interesting to me as well, I have most of my issues with static with the cyan/light cyan. I use a clean towel, and spray the backside of the towel with a carpet static treatment, then lightly wipe the coro with the front, and it seems to help, to some extent. Ken
