It was last year I think, and when I spoke to Bill he said the product did not need to be edge sealed. After my issue I still use their product but edge seal now.

New member here, and this time of year we're crushed with boat lettering jobs. Everyone's got a hard in-water date and all the jobs seem to be rush ($$). Here's today's project, which is pretty popular this year; traditional cut vinyl with a digitally printed highlight.

I lost a sale this way too once the customer realized the magnet would not stick to their new truck. In my state (MA), the RMV considers magnetics AND vinyl on windows temporary and therefore not acceptable for commercial lettering requirements anyway. It has to be vinyl on steel.

Just saw this thread... I have had issues, on boat lettering, when I have not edge sealed Real Gold product. Yes it's a PIA, but I seal now when I use their vinyl.
