  1. Branching out into the consumer market

I think they're legalizing that stuff here soon, so we'll see about the spliffs!:D
  2. Branching out into the consumer market

Valid points all. Thanks for the input. For me, this is really about increasing revenue from the existing customer base. And so far, so good. There has certainly been some spillover to the true custom/one-off market too. Granted, this is still fairly new to our traditional B2B model, but...
  3. Branching out into the consumer market

One of the interesting dynamics for me has been that most of my end-user customers are my business customers. I make them aware of what we can do, and it's been really easy to cross sell them for these things that become birthday gifts, Christmas presents, anniversary gifts, etc. So the...
  4. Branching out into the consumer market

I purchased a 60W Epilog laser engraver a little more than a year ago to enable us to cut acrylic letters, etc. in house. And while we certainly use the machine for that purpose (general signage and letters), I'm finding a really big opportunity moving from B2B to the consumer market. Anybody...
  5. Need supplier to buy my eco-solvent Roland inks from?

I use Ordway Sign Supply, even though I'm in MA and they're in CA. Shipping is fast, prices are good, plus I get a credit for the empties I return to them. I don't know many dealers who offer store credits for recycled cartridges. They generate a UPS tag for the returns; nothing easier.
  6. Duravinyl 263

Was asked to bid an installation job that will use Duravinyl 263. Never used the stuff before -- anyone have any experience with it? I did a quick search and looks like a wet application. TIA.

  10. 3M Di-Noc for marine applications

I do print wood grain + lam all the time, but this customer is stuck on Di-noc.
  11. 3M Di-Noc for marine applications

Customer called today and asked me to wrap their transom with mahogany Di-noc. Anyone use this stuff in a marine environment? The tech specs I was able to read from 3M made this sound like an interior only product. TIA.
  12. shiny gold vinyl for boat

Real Gold or Quick Gold will both last for 10+ years when properly installed. They both have the "mirror" finish too. I always edge seal the vinyl though...
  13. Need A Good Never Forget 9-11-01 For Vinyl

I've done a few jobs like that, but most of them are digitally printed VS cut vinyl. Try any of the likely suspects (istockphoto, shutterstock, etc.) who will have dozens of vector files like you describe.
  14. Best Marker For Writing On Laminate?

I've got a few customers for whom I use dry erase laminate. Works great, but like all dry erase products, you have to use the right pen!
  15. Seamless Wood Plank Pattern?

A buddy of mine with a sign shop in RI has been wrapping boat transoms with 3M Di-Noc marine grade wood grain vinyl. Stuff looks impressive...

What 3SixtySigns said. I've done many that way and quote all the new boxes as LED.
