Summa software support is horrible. The machine is great. It always feels like they dropped the ball on the software implementation end, no matter what program is used.

The carrige does go all the way to the right and when it searches for the pinch rollers its un able to locate then and gives the error. I may just give a call and see if it’s fixable without replacing the mainboard.

I got a new pinch roller sensor today and it didnt fix the problem. Looks like a new s3, i was already thinking of getting a bigger unit.

I had a similar issue that was resolved by changing the ink limitation, and ink limit check. I also helped by raising the heat. My test print prints perfect though.

An update to what happened previously. The main board needed replacing. Summa replaced and sent a tech to install under the warranty. Well after over 5 years, the machine has the same problem AGAIN. Was cutting fine and then went to load the next sheet and BAM no more pinch roller sensor.

I had fuzzy prints once, did a bi-directional adjustment and it fixed it. That looks like the issue here because the blurring happens in one direction only.

Put the old head on and the test pattern looks like it should. Have verified it is the print head. Purchased from Digiprint supplies. Hopefully they accept a return or replacement.

Ok, I put new cables in and this started. Double checked those then the old cables and it's still doing it. Was fine before i changed the head.

I have just completed a new printhead install in a VS-300i. I am getting a weird test print issue, see bellow image. Can't seem to figure out what the issue is. Double checked cables, dampeners, correct orientation of printhead, headrank #. What causing this issue?

Does Easy Cut studio allow for barcodes with Summa and Graphtec plotters?

We personally don't like the software options for the summa cutters, referring to Macsign, and GoSign. It's not very intuitive and buggy. Gosign doesn't allow the controls needed for our jobs. Gosign only allows the changing of speed, overcut, flexcut and tool. MacSign is riddled with bugs...

We Have a VG2 that's been running for years without issues. The colors are great. Don't have experience with Epson but their pricing right now is convincing

What settings is your FC9000 set at? Mark type, size, thickness etc. Could you include the sensor settings and scan mode?

Is Grimco's Holographic Film Polyester or Vinyl?

My main board died on my S2 within the first year and has since always acted sluggish. Summa did repair it for free and got on it. but their electronics seem lacking. Great machines in their own sense. Can't decide between graphtec fc9000 or summa s2 class. Both have their cons.

Media sensor maybe. SOmetimes the vinyl in the front or back lifts up for whatever reason and it can pause and then resumes once the media comes down.

The new machines have a special feature in the menu to do this. I have a S275 Tangential. You are able to specify the length and how many copies to make. It's right under the sheet cut option. No computer needed
