Here is what I can confirm so far:
-Main PS 36V consistent 35.9 whenever I check
- Small 5V PS also seems good at 5V output
For Main PCB , I have EPL3 version:
- 5V at CN14 coming into top right of board
- 5V at F1 Fuse
- 5V at F8 nano fuse
Station IV PCB:
- 36V at CN2 connector coming into...
Not sure if this is a related question, but I am not clear what the second Sub Power switch is for on the printer? Referring to the main 120V power coming in, and two main rocker switches. The main one seems to power up everything, and supplies the Power supply. I see the manual says to switch...
I do want to make my best effort to troubleshoot first. I am new at this, but technically competent, and do try to learn
I understand that I need to trace where power is and where it ends either at or before the board.
- Trying to focus first on Station IV PCB, as it seems to be first after...
I apologize if this is not the correct approach. I reached out with this question here because this user had similar symptoms, but not the same error as mine. They also noted no led's on their Station IV PCB as well so I was interested in thier experience. I am not sure how I would ask them...
That is a very good suggestion. My machine is 2018 ucjv300. I did a similar check end-to-end with meter. How did you narrow down which FCC cable was the issue? Did you end up replacing boards only to find out still not getting power?
- Did you try any techniques that tipped you off which FCC was...
I did not mean to ask for so much of your time to go chip by chip. The main thing I am trying to understand, is being a newbie to Mimaki machines, is whether I can just follow the service manual and confidently replace the parts noted, and expect to resolve the issue?
- My concern is that this...
I have not been able to find a clear issue yet. Checked a number of cables, and fuses. Traced some power connectors back to main powersupply and they have 36V as well. But no lights on those 3 boards, so it seems to get cut off.
I pulled out the Station IV PCB completely to be able to take...
Hello,
Wondering if replacing the board fixed your problems, and how things have been since? I have a similar issue and concerned if I put in a new board only to find it get fired again due to an issue elsewhere. Thank you for any help you can provide.
I am having a similar issues with "Station IV PCB". None of the led's on the board are on. Wondering if you have any experience trying to figure out what the issue may be with the board, and how to go about figuring out / and / or confirming if the board itself is defiantly bad. Trying to avoid...
- Is it normal for boards to go bad. In this error 1db case: 3 PCB's at once.
- My concern is if I replace boards, and the issues that caused them to fail, causes the new ones to fail again
- And are some of the established sellers on Alibaba reliable to source boards from, or am I limited to...
There is also this orange connector that is not connected to anything. Is that normal?
- Can you recommend any techniques or tests I can do for narrowing down which board it may be, or do you think I will have to replace all 3 together as per the service manual.
- Is there a way to boot the...
- I powered it up, it displayed the Mimaki logo with boot up for a little while, and then went to the error screen with the 1db error.
- The entire time, the power supply fan ran at what seemed like a high speed. But I am not familiar with the normal operating sound of this so not sure if that...
Is the way to unlock the main printhead carriage so you can safely slide it away from the capping station while the machine is off?
I currently cannot fully boot up due to the 1db error.
While I am waiting for the flushing fluid #07 to arrive, are there any things I can begin doing related to cleaning?
- When I picked up the machine a few days ago, I removed the ink bottles from the top, and wiped and covered their tops with foil. The top tank ports where each ink bottle is...
