If the printer is already running white and metallic the conversion will be difficult being you need to repalce ink lines, dampers, captops, printheads.
  2. VJ1614 - E074Err CR2 Current

That encoder in the picture is done witht that amount of a scrape/rub theres no way for the sensor to read its position on the strip if it is no longer there. Did you do that by cleaning it? encoders are very sensitive strips of mylar 1 kink or rub off like that it is done. The rest of the...
  3. SP-540i Print Heads - Can I replace them myself?

I've changed hundreds of printheads.... but also am a certified printer technican. A versacamm uses 2 epson dx4 printheads.... without proper percuation you could damage the new head, burn up the carriage board or mainboard. BTW if and when you get it in can you do mechanical alignments for...

  5. Roland Versaworks

OK.. I have seen this before. Try this re-install once you get printer connection verified go to edit > prefrences > on the update tab set it to your ink type and printer only. Do not run updates during install after you set that update setting do the updates then open it up see if that works.
  6. VS-540 Ink reformat doable?

btw... the dual channel cmyk works and you can increase your speeds drastically. That saying IDK if versaworks has any profiles for that on your model... BUT if you had the ability to make profiles it wouldn't be tough at all.
  7. VS-540 Ink reformat doable?

Wingace running the printer in 6color mode through versaworks and no metallics or white. Your right by running cleaning cartridges in those ink channels not used, its important or the printheads will dry out and be useless in the future. I dont really no the reason you dont run the met and...
  8. Roland Dampers - differences and DIY?

I have the service manual for the Soljet II if you need it. If you were wanting it to help replace the dampers its not going to be a big help. On a roland it does have to be done carefully as so that you dont break the manifold nipple on the head or spit ink on too the electronic board of the...
  9. Roland XC 540 vs SC 545

In my opinion the XC-540 is a full metal jacket and the SC-545ex is a jacket with metal patched around it. 7yrs. of service on solvent printers of all sorts. The XC is belt driven were as the SC is cable driven, the XC has a dryer built on the front (big enough to print full speed and no...

    1. I would not call the HP ink expensive its mearly cost effective, and they do great work for indoor use no outdoor printing recommended. 2. Yes alot of people run them, a matter of fact I see more HP 5500's than kodak, incad, epsons combined. 3. Yes its a great machine, it doesnt get much...
  14. how much would you pay for a SC500?

Why would you need a cutter if you buy a print/cut machine?
  15. how much would you pay for a SC500?

I said it wrong production speed is about 160sqft. hr. but you can run billboard mode on that printer and run it up to 300sqft. hr. Sorry bout the mistype just got going to fast..... see what happens when you compensate speed for quality LOL Profiles exist for that printer I have a list...
  16. how much would you pay for a SC500?

One other thing, profiles exist for this printer in droobs it has some good profiles out there you will probably be running color rip with this model it is basically a wasatch type of RIP and works well. If there are alot cheaper units out there that do what the SC does like Schurm states...
  17. how much would you pay for a SC500?

The SC doesnt have optical sensor on cutter head, nor do any of the roland units prior to the SC model. You can still print cropmarks take out laminate and then put back in and instead of automatically reading those marks you align your cutter head on top of those marks. If you look on the...

  19. uv ink adhesion?

I would go with Tony on this one. Hey check the catonic inks I find them to have a little beter adhesion and flexibility.... Like everyone else is saying it has everything to do with the lamps, speed, and pass control. When purchasing a flatbed you really need to put all the cards on the...
  20. Intelligent pass control

The graident issue is a known problem with versaworks.... If only they would box the XJ series with postershop? That wont ever happen, but as far as gradient and the best dot pattern per pass ONYX is what I like and see printing good production quality output.
