It looks like there is a heavy ink lay down and most likely that black is a mixture of CMYK. Have you tired creating different black values in your art program? Do you have any deflecting magenta nozzles?
Nozzle wash?
You lightly push solution into the print head and do a reverse pull to see if it helps. If the head is to old you will most likely see solution come back out a different channel or squirt out the side of the head plate. Have you tried doing a nozzle wash? Have you tried pulling...
lint free sponge swabs
We carry all sorts of lint free sponge swabs on our website. We also have the Mimaki maintenance manuals for download in our support section.
Damper problem
you don't need to worry about the print head. Based on what you described, it's absolutely the problem above the head.
when you pull the syringe connecting the damper, Make sure there is no air in the damper. When you hold the damper upside down 75 degree and press the...
Cleaning solution
Iam very familiar with Kiian digester ink. Hi pro is one of the high density ink.
if you only use cleaning solution to wipe around the print head for daily maintenance, you should just keep using the cleaning solution recommended, as one liter will last you a long time. You...
Print head passes and life span
Mimaki printers with Ricoh printheads, such as TS500 do have problems when running highest speed with less passes (usually 2-4 passes). I have seen some of our customers change thier Ricoh printheads every 6 month, and usually more than a few at a time.
Its...
This could be a slider board issue but is most likely the HDC board that controls your light heads. The HDCs are under the main board the LC/LM board has 1 heat sink and the CMYK board has 2 if that helps.
The problem with head #4 is an electrical issue. In many cases this can be cause by the connection between the print head and FPC cable. I would turn the machine off and inspect head #4 near this connection ( right side of the print head) make sure there is no ink anywhere near it. If the...
Broken seal
Sounds like you have a broken seal in the print head. It can be caused by changing ink, constant nozzle wash and clean or merely Wear and Tear.
You can change the cap top, wiper. But iam not confident it will make a difference.
one thing you can do is flush the print head with...
Sublimation ink
In terms of dye sublimation ink, I have seen lots of sportswear manufacturers using Kiian digitsl ink. It's an Italian brand manufacturer, also have a plant in the USA. Heard lots of good things about them, and their ink is not expensive. You can call them @ 323-439-7690
hope...
Resolution for dye sublimation
540x720 and 720x720 with 4 pass are the most common ones for Mimaki jv33s and jv300, jv150s, running dye sublimation Priting.
For sportswear jersey with solid colors, higher resolution such as 1440, or 1040 are over kill. You may lay down too much ink on the...
Rip software for dye sub
VD is always recommended.
Besides raster link, which comes with Mimaki printer free of charge, you should also look at other rips, such as Ergosoft and wasatch, especially for spot color management, color gradients, and ETC.
