  1. Need Help ONYX not saving Scale Adjust - HP360

Aha! I forgot about the magnification setting in the Quick Set. Thanks! I'm still curious as to why it keeps dumping the setting in the Media Library.
  2. Need Help ONYX not saving Scale Adjust - HP360

Hey! I'm having a problem with ONYX not saving my scale adjustments on my media. I have a HP L370 and recently acquired a used 360. The prints on my 360 are coming out short, we do a lot of 4'x8' MDO boards for a client and the length/height is short by about 3/4". No big deal, I go into...
  3. Direct printing to Coro

I had the same issues with UV prints on coroplast. The ink would basically start to peel off completely around the 5 - 6 month mark. It was explained to me that the sunlight will make the coroplast brittle when exposed for long periods and the ink would lift off the surface. Dibond, and MDO...
  4. Why is our Agfa Anapurna showing empty black ink when it's full?

I haven't had my ink tank sensors working on my Agfa Jeti 1224 since day one. They have been replaced by an Agfa tech twice and they still don't read close to accurate. A few will read empty (when they are full) and others will read half full or a quarter empty. We keep them topped off most...
  5. Need Help covering back of 4x10 glass whiteboard - help!

Paint or find a navy vinyl that's close to their colour and laminate it on.
  6. Easiest print/cut with Summa

We also use WinPlot. It is very simple. I do what GraphicSource does, except for I do everything through Illustrator and save it as an .ai file. Just drag it into WinPlot and start cutting.
  7. Suggestions Emerging from my Time Capsule: What are the substrates of choice these days?

We do a lot of signs based on MDO or Dibond (ACM) for durable outdoor signs. Foamcore, acrylic and Sintra for indoor. Coroplast for short-term outdoor use. It does really depend on the application. Ditto on the plastic A frames being junk. We make ours out of MDO or buy the snap-frame type.
  8. HP L560

I run Textiles or Backlit film that high. Everything else looks great to me from 80%-120%, like jayhawksigns said.
  9. Suggestions Silver Etch Vinyl

We use KPMF K71111 for our standard etch, and K51111 for our silver etch. I think the K5111 might work for you. We get it from TCT Graphic Products, they have locations in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. Maybe ask for a sample of both. I have UV, solvent and latex printed on both.
  10. Sign Maker / Car Wrapper / Media Designer From Germany Q&a

Hey Lukas, The company I work for produces a lot of projects for a company called DDB DDB Worldwide | Homepage and they produce some really imaginative campaigns. I know they operate worldwide, we do work for their Canadian branch. As far as wages and where to look in America, I don't have any...
  11. Need Help Anyone Want To See. . . .

The first HP 370 we were sent was DOA. The replacement one works well enough. I want to smash the take-up system every time I use it, though.
  12. Color Shifting Panels Coming Off My 360/365

Is your calibration off? In the substrate menu, it should Calibration: OK or Calibration: Obsolete. I know I've been burnt by printing something when it read Obsolete, then calibrated later and ran the same job. Same situation, it wasn't WAY off but enough to tell.
  13. 3m 40c Controltrac

I would lam it with 3m 8518, 8519, or 8520. 8519 is our standard vehicle overlaminate.
  14. Need Help Onyx 12?

I run Thrive and I do have problems ripping large files as well. Happened today actually on some 20' banners. When I bring the files in halfscale, then resize to 200% the PDF engine just stops ripping right away. The only way to get around this, that I've found, is to lower the resolution of the...
  15. If You Have A Latex 300 Series You Will Want This...

Nice! Thanks so much. The user manual is way too bare bones. I was looking for an error code today, now I have it. Thanks!
  16. Frosted Vinyl Search 60"

We use KPMF K71111 for all our standard frosted etch projects. You can get in 60". TCT Graphics carries it. Not sure about American distributors.
  17. New HP Latex Printer Model

I work with a L360. I found I could run about 90% off all my same materials, except my pop-up banner materials. I still do those on solvent. I couldn't get the heat setting right after many attempts, the heat warps it like crazy. Dial back the heat and it won't cure the blacks. Still looking for...
  18. HP L560

Yeah profiling on the L370 was a major hassle. I assume it would be on the 560. The only way I could get good consistent colors across all my materials (all five passing a G7 test for digital coated offset) was to: Linearize -> create a Quick Set in Onyx stripping ALL icc profiles and setting a...
  19. In LOVE with the hp 570 latex printer

Nice! We got our 370 last summer, though I would rather have gotten a 570. With so many stock changes throughout the day, the 370's loading and take-up reel become a pain. I'm assuming the 570 is much easier to load? That 2 pass looks pretty great too, I hesitate to go below 6 pass on the 370.
