sounds like the foil bag failed or wasn't sealed and melted the cart and cartridge holder, I would recommend calling Grafx Network, I think they have a tech in Blue Springs, MO that can help.
Just to clarify, if you're new Roland printer is under warranty and you switch to any 3rd party ink you lose the Roland 2nd year trouble free warranty, which if a board goes out or something else fails that isn't covered under the 3rd party ink warranty, you could be at a greater risk...

"Having dropout from a few heads", why not just replace those heads? You can probably find a reliable 3rd party DX4 printhead for less than $900 all day long.

Kingofwraps, on the tubing going into the bulk tanks, make sure that the tubing isn't "topped out" inside the compression fitting restricting the ink flow. In other words see how far the tubing can go into the bulk tank fitting and back out a few mm's before you tighten the cap, so it not...

who's ink is it? Some inks are formulated to be plug and play behind OEM but need to be flushed behind other 3rd party inks. Call the mfg just to be sure.
