I have wondered about using heavy duty floor graphic lam on high wear spots on wraps. What got me thinking about it is where the bucket on our lift van will hit the back corner of the van and scratch the regular laminate. I was thinking off adding a section of the rough textured floor lam on...
I have used compression springs like the ones for storm doors for smaller banners and that helps hold them tight and will let them give a little in a strong wind to keep the banner from tearing. The trampoline springs would work well for the bigger banner or look into the springs for a porch...
Does the App Store have Google Goggles? That is on the Android Market and is the BEST bar code/qr code/whatever scanner. It can scan text and automatically create contacts from what it sees as well as give you options for mapping.
I also like My Measures and Dimensions for sending in spec...
I go for the .080 aluminum and sheet metal screws with a little silicone to prevent rust at the screw points. Just make sure the edge of the sign panel is on a rib and not sticking past one. That is a prime place for it to get snagged and bent.
VHB would work if you want a blind mount but you...
We heat our garage work space in the winter with a combo of kerosene and propane heaters. The Kerosene heater is louder than the radiant propane heaters so we use that one to warm the place up in a hurry. We will switch over to propane after that. The garage is not air tight and we never...
Yeah, the guy we hired was a Search and Rescue member for the Red River Gorge area and offered to give me lessons but finding the time is the hard part. Some day I will take the time to get outfitted and learn to climb and rappel safely!
I had to hire a window washer at one point to install a banner on the side of a 100+ year old library. The terrain was too rough for a lift so I had him rappel off the roof and hang the banner for us. It made me really want to learn how to do that!!!
Just make sure you sell them on "sign insurance" that will cover a free replacement of stolen or damaged signs... (JK)
I could see renting frames to neighborhood groups and yard sale families to give them something better but to real estate groups would be a hassle to keep up with who gets what...
Really I think it just boils down to the employees. The owner of the store doesn't need to be an expert sign maker, they just need to know how to run a business. It is up to the owner to staff the sign shop with knowledgeable people to do the job. Hiring a real graphic designer is important...
I have been given many jobs that require sleeve anchors with a two part adhesive that is injected into the wall. At that point you just have to be sure the brick is solid and in good shape or your likely to lose a brick with the sign pole.
A common brand name would be Red Head and are sold at...
If you need a tough smart phone, check out the Casio G'Zone smartphone. I had the old Boulder and it was tough!!! The new smart phone is supposed to be just as tough. I dropped my Boulder from 30' in the air from the bucket truck and it only had a few scratches. Too bad the Casio smartphone...
We have done some non-mesh three pole banners that have held up just fine. They were just 24" wide but again they were non-mesh. So far they are going on a year.
that looks like a digital print with lam that I just pulled off of a panface. It had darkened so much you could barely see the print. I wold contact the media manufacturer on that one!
You say the print on the hood was fine? It does look like heavy sun damage.
SW Florida is just "special", my wife's grandparents lived down there for decades and have since passed the house on to her parents. We travel down there almost yearly and the people in those parts are just a little over baked in the sun. Fun area and good times. You just have to take life in...
Like Mike said, make sure you clean out the holes and use a good silicone or liquid nails and it will hold tight.
Lowes sells the Red Head adhesive for wedge/sleeve anchors if you are concerned with weight. It is a two part mix in the tip epoxy that you can get in standard single caulk gun...
I use Liquid Nails and never have a problem. When it's winter and I have an install I use DAP 3.0 Flashing caulk because of the super low working temps.
With lamination it should be even easier.
If my stuff is not taped then I either use a stiff felt squeegee or a good 4" Golden Squeegee with a strip of loop side velcro over one edge.
Looking into doing one for someone. They are wanting a jersey dairy cow pattern. Same EZ-Go as the one you did but with headlights. Do you know the rough square footage on that cart? They look pretty easy to cover.
That one sure is bright! It looks great.
