  1. Print and cut limitations

On a cjv150 the halfcut is defined in rasterlink. Its not mechanical. Typically the settings for vinyl (unless its reflective like above) I only use the outside rollers and set them to high. Just for clarification. EDIT: When is the last time you calibrated? I would try the print/cut adjust...
  2. Print and cut limitations

Firstly, If your cuts are that far off, I would absolutely call a tech. Could be alot of things. Perhaps some more troubleshooting on your end before you call the tech. Can you cut without crops? Have you lightly cleaned the encoder strip? Are your pinch roller settings correct? Try using well...
  3. UJF-3042 - Black streaks when printing yellow.

If that doesn't do it, more than likely its your cap top. If there's any corrosion or chips and its not airtight the inks will cross contaminate.
  4. Sign Business as SIDE HUSTLE...

you are ahead of me man. I'm in the same boat but I don't have machines. I mostly just design, but I use a few different vendors to get the prints. In the case of vinyls, I have them produced and I install them. So... mind if I ask when you were ready to take the next step to get your machines...
  5. UJF-3042 - Black streaks when printing yellow.

Damper needs replacing. Happened to me too. It's a rather cheap fix.
  6. why do I get a little bit of Cyan in my Yellow (Mimaki JV33)

I've had it happen before. It was a damper and as far as replacements go its not too bad price wise.
  7. CJV150-160 'Floating' crops

I assume you've done the print/cut origin adjust? From rasterlink. Not on the machine itself. That fixed the issue for me. I fixed the issue with the floating crops by cutting without crops and it seems to be alright. It's not a job that has to be extra precise so I can get away with it but...
  8. double sided window graphics... HELP!

SO there's alot going on here. Trying to clear a few things up. The graphic has to be visible from the inside of the stores. I've tried translucent and they rejected 2 different materials. I have personally ruled out doing a large quantity of pvc mounted to low-tac's because they're difficult to...
  9. double sided window graphics... HELP!

If it was easy everyone would do it! Thanks guys.
  10. double sided window graphics... HELP!

    (1) Window graphics to cover windows of their stores (2) Has to be visible from both sides (one sample was too translucent) & user-friendly, so their employees would be able to install (3) Full coverage, preferably solvent press
  11. UV Printing on Silicone wristbands...is possible??

UHhh I also have a ujf-3042. I have produced countless custom watch bands, which are a similar material. When you attempt to print on a new substrate you should consider how smooth the substance is on a molecular level. If the molecules are too perfectly aligned the ink tends to not bond. To...
  12. double sided window graphics... HELP!

Well T K under normal circumstances I'd agree with you. This job has a lot of money making potential and the customer is a fortune 500. There's alot of pressure on me to produce something that satisfies them. The industry standards are just not what they're looking for I guess.
  13. double sided window graphics... HELP!

Boss has been coming down on me trying to get our customer to be satisfied with a material to cover their windows. Already gave them 4-5 samples none of which they liked. Glass adhere, static, low tac clear adhesive, etc. So I guess the only thing to try are some out-of-the-box ideas. I did...
  14. Anyone have a recomendation for window clings?

Got the sample in. Man this stuff is awesome! Just wanted to say thanks again! (I spent a good half hour sticking it to everything trying to find something it wouldnt stick to!)
  15. Anyone have a recomendation for window clings?

Well I guess the choice is clear (or opaque) Already sent out for a sample. Thanks again everyone.
  16. Anyone have a recomendation for window clings?

Where would I purchase this material? I checked the glassadhere out and it is pretty impressive. The more options, the merrier!
  17. Anyone have a recomendation for window clings?

Too true, I'm afraid. We were going to give them directions around the squeegee haha! Thanks Guys! Much appreciated.
  18. Anyone have a recomendation for window clings?

I have a customer looking for a rather large run of interior window clings. I'll need to give them a few different options and proposals as to the material and application. They want to be able to apply these themselves and the piece will be bigger than 42" square. Any tips? I know of low tac...
  19. CJV150-160 'Floating' crops

    very much....?
  20. Mimaki ink recommendations?

I have a UJF 3042fx. When we initially got the machine, we had 150 in it. The 150 was great because of the variety of substrates that we were able to print on. Like I said above, since you will be printing on hard surfaces, I'd recommend the 100. You have the option of including a primer in your...
